My friend Jason Miller just released a CD, “The Road To El Vado”, that I played on. His music reminds me of early Country – real country – like Merle Haggard. He’s a great poet and songsmith, and it was an honor to be part of the project. The CD release show was a huge success, with lots of special guests, including members of The Haunted Windchimes and Grass It Up. I was there fiddlin’ as a part of his acoustic ensemble.
Cruise on over to his website to scope it out.
I’ve been working a lot with my Old-Time band, Stolen Thyme. We were recently featured in the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society’s newsletter, Pow’r Pickin’. Cathleen Norman’s interview with us for the March issue did a good job of exploring the underpinnings our “neo-traditional” music.
We’ve booked a number of new shows for the summer, including the Rocky Mountain Old Time Music Festival in Berthoud, CO, where we’ll be a featured showcase act on Saturday, June 2nd.
Visit the Croma Website for more info.
I’ll also be playing at the Meadowgrass Festival in Black Forest, CO over Memorial Day Weekend, as a guest with the J. Miller Band and with Grass It Up. I can’t wait to hear Son Volt and Jake Schepps (with Grant Gordy!) at this festival.
Here’s a link to the Meadowgrass site.
Stolen Thyme is also playing at the Colorado Planter’s Moon Festival on May 18th-20th, 2012 in Gold Hill. Looking forward to some great dancing and Old-Time pickin’ at this one.
I’ve got a bunch of other great plans in the works. I won’t spill the beans too much for now, but suffice it to say I’ll be heading for more avante garde territory in the near future. In the meantime, thanks for listening!
